A primary goal for the expansion and renovation of the University Library's main building, the William Knox Holt Memorial Library, and its Health Sciences Branch is to create a dynamic teaching and learning center in which students, faculty, and librarians can work collaboratively and easily access networked and print information sources.
Designed with diverse types of study spaces for individuals and groups, and with ample shelving space for the Library's collections, the renovated Health Sciences Branch and Rite Aid Information Commons opened in 2004; the expansion of the Holt Library was completed in early 2005. Renovation of the Holt Library began in October 2005.
Fall 2006 – Wood Hall main floor and Library lobby renovated. New entry doors and Café area as well.
Summer 2006 – Martin Wing renovation complete; demolition begins on Wood Hall main floor; summer entrance on Brubeck Way
Spring 2006 – Holt expansion complete; Martin Wing in transition; collection moved to new locations
