The library has periodical articles in print and online. Others you can request through InterLibrary Loan. We have both popular and scholarly periodicals. Here are some ways to tell the difference:

Selected by the editor Accepted by a panel of experts
Few or no footnotes, bibliographies Footnotes, bibliographies

Databases

The following databases should be useful for this course:

  • Academic Search Complete: abstracts and full-text of popular and scholarly articles
  • Business Source Complete: similar to the above with a focus on business and economics
  • EconLit: index and abstracts in economics, link to full-text
  • Education Research Complete: popular and scholarly articles about topics in educational practice.
  • ERIC: this is the primary index to the literature of education.
  • JSTOR: backfiles of the full-text of hundreds of scholarly journals. No current content!
  • PsycInfo: index and links to articles about psychology, including learning theory
  • Sociological Abstracts: index and links to sociological materials
